Democratic National Convention Countdown

Only 76 tromb--days until the convention. What happened today? Glad you asked, putz:

Video posted of hip-hoppers Dead Prez touting R68. Very dated, as you'll notice by the presence of both Glenn Spagnuolo and now-R!68 Enemy Number 1 Adam Jung of Tent State. Video sucks, too. It was posted by something called Street Team 08. From their "about" page:
MTV, as part of its Emmy-winning 'Choose or Lose" campaign, has formed "Street Team '08": a specially recruited corps of 51 digital journalists - one from every state and Washington, D.C. - who will cover the national presidential and local races from a youth perspective throughout 2008. Armed with a laptop and video camera, and charged with uncovering the untold political stories that matter most to young people in their respective states, the one-of-a-kind press corps will submit weekly multi-media reports tailored for distribution online and via mobile phones.

The "Street Team '08" program is made possible with the help of a $700,000 News Challenge grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
Kind of like the D-blog is doing, except without the $700,000 (or the "youth perspective").

First-ever Democratic convention interfaith gathering to celebrate shared values:
“We will host our first ever Democratic Convention interfaith gathering" to "celebrate our shared values," said Leah Daughtry, chief of the convention.
See?
The event will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Wells Fargo Theater in the Colorado Convention Center. The event will be open to the public.
Angles:
Demconvention.com "will stream live, gavel-to-gavel, HD coverage of the highest quality to a worldwide audience" during the Aug. 25-28 Democratic National Convention, organizers announced today.

"Among the many features will be the ability for viewers to select their preferred camera angle, essentially allowing them to direct their own Convention coverage."
Downtown businesses: Reassure us.
